Subscription Glossary
This glossary uses product-friendly language for subscription concepts.
| Term | Meaning |

| Tenant | The restaurant organization or company using Dineax. |
| Outlet | A branch, store, cafe, restaurant location, kiosk, or operating unit under a tenant. |
| Plan | A versioned subscription package. |
| Plan version | A stable snapshot of a plan at a point in time. |
| Module | A customer-facing product package that may later be included in or sold with a plan. |
| Feature | A specific capability that may be enabled, limited, or checked. |
| Entitlement | Tenant-level access to a feature or capability. |
| Permission | User-level authority to perform an action. |
| Trial | Time-bound evaluation state for a tenant. |
| Usage counter | A tracked quantity for a feature or limit. |
| Limit | A maximum allowed quantity or usage amount. |
| Override | A tenant-specific entitlement change that differs from the base plan. |
| Upgrade | Moving to a higher or broader plan or capability set. |
| Downgrade | Moving to a lower or narrower plan or capability set. |
| Proration | Future billing adjustment when a plan changes during a billing period. |
| Subscription invoice | Future SaaS billing document from Dineax to the tenant. |
| POS receipt | Restaurant receipt given to the restaurant's customer. It is not a Dineax subscription invoice. |
| Console | Platform-level Dineax application for Dineax operations and support users. |
| Admin | Tenant administration application for restaurant owners or administrators. |
Terms To Keep Separate
- Permission is not entitlement: permission controls the user; entitlement controls the tenant.
- POS payment is not subscription payment: POS payments are restaurant customer transactions.
- Application module is not commercial module: application modules may group product code or permissions; commercial modules are customer-facing packages.
- Feature flag is not subscription: feature flags control rollout; subscriptions control commercial access.
